Adjust text box without changing font size
I love the platform, but it is very limiting when it comes to sizing and formatting text. I would love to be able to type in a font size, and adjust the text box without the font size changing. I love this program to create professional looking flyers and info graphics, but it takes hours to get the font size and text to line up. It is really difficult to the text to line up on both sides of the document. Currently, I don't have an option to stretch the text to the width of the document without changing the size, so I am left with text that doesn't match. I have had to abandon projects in spark and start over in other programs because of this. Please help.
Hi everyone!
I’m happy to announce that you can now resize the text box without change the font size. Simply drag the size handle to preserve the font size.
Cheers!

It's too much based on the good idea but flawed execution of Figma and auto layout and constraints.
Figma should have followed what Adobe implemented decades ago for all type and vector work but the scaling, drawing and text are really backward thinking as they are applied in Figma. Can only think the 'time saving' for beginning designers who can't resize their own work for mobile, quickly and easily, won the debate.

Hi Anonymous (January 15 post)
I assume you have checked there are no manual breaks (Enter/Return) within the text you expect to fit in one line. Would it be possible for you to do a screen recording demonstrating the issue, upload it somewhere and post a link here?
Thanks!

Yes, the admin's July 9 post is not correct that I can see. The text box breaks my line at its original size rather than expanding to the width of my widest line, and when I attempt to drag the text box wider it just snaps back. Big frustrations.

Hi Kimber,
The new side handles Amy mentioned allow you to change line breaks without changing the font size. Addressing this use case / frustration (see Ashley's comment below) has been the main driver for this new feature.
As you've noted, it still snaps width to that of the widest line. In other words, you cannot make the text box wider than the content. We understand you would like to do this in order to help center text. Do you not find "alignment guides" (dotted lines that show up as you move items on the page) useful for that purpose?
Thanks!

yes it doesn't work for me either, if you try to stretch the box, it just pings back.

Dear Amy
I do not find that this is fixed. If I have a text box between two photographs, and I want to ensure that the text is centered between the two photographs, I would normally stretch the text box to hit the right and left edges, then hit Center to center the text. I cannot do this in Spark. So I am confused as to why you say we can resize the text box. I cannot stretch the text box where I want It just snaps back. So how can I ensure that my text is centered?

I need to have all text on one line. It is doing this annoying thing where it puts one word on the second line no matter how you format the box, it will not all fit onto one line.
