A save button instead of auto save.
A save button may work better than leaving the work to come back to only have of what you had previously. I've had to restart over more times than enjoying finishing one completely without it throwing me back to where I previously was

Please, turn off this feature, it annoys me so much and makes the work very slow..lag and drag.
