Thanks for the request! Can you tell me more about how you would like to create a template in AI and import in to Spark? We’d be interested to know how you would expect it to work, how often you might do this, and anything else you might be interested in sharing.

the issue is you dont have full control over layout margins and other issues in spark, so you need to import from illustrator with layers to have some control so the social media managers can just adjust the design in spark..

Typically Spark is supposed to be the last step in your creation process, but I’d love to hear more about how it could work.

I agree with @Nils. Spark is great for the social media managers to pump out content, but doesnt have the control of professional design tools. So you need to start by creating the designs in other places and then importing into spark, for the content producers. However, there doesnt appear to by any format you can export/import that preserves layers.
Most of our use of spark is for social media posts. These posts end up with a preset format for consistency across brand. Right now, you have to duplicate and find each time, when you should be able to save a template
