We're using CC Express to produce social content. Right now, our team is producing templates for a non-designer to produce content, so having as many features in-tool would reduce how much Photoshop and other design work we would need to do prior to handoff. There are a few use cases where this would be really helpful for our team:

    1) Applying a background gradient
    2) Using a gradient in a shape fill
    3) Applying a gradient as text fill
    4) The option to use a gradient as a fill over an image, with the option to control the alpha level of a color too. This would functionally be similar to using a gradient feather in InDesign. We'd use this to darken/lighten a portion of the image so a text overlay is more legible.

The flexibility of the freeform gradients in Illustrator would be great as well, rather than just having linear and radial options. If I had to settle for a single one though, it would be the gradient fill over an image, as that would mean way less photo editing.

In Beta  ·  Amy Zhong responded

PNG is now the default export option on all platforms.

On web, you’ll also have the option to export as PDF (beta) and JPEG.

We’ll be adding the ability to export JPEG on mobile soon.
