It could have buttons with horizontal and vertical alignment presets for objects relative to the canvas: left, center, right / top, center, bottom.
Even with the guides and the snap on them, I have some difficulties, with my clumsy fingers, to make what I'm moving to stop right over the crossing horizontal and vertical snapping point.
