Import pre-recorded Audio/Narration and add closed captioning.
I would be able to better use this tool for my courses if I could add pre-recorded audio (we have a professional narrator) and closed captioning (for accessibility purposes).
We have launched a private beta version of the feature to import pre-recorded audio/narration on iPhone & iPad. You should easily be able to import your narration audio clips from anywhere, irrespective of whether you created them on mobile or desktop. Spark Video iOS app integrates with iCloud files which in turn allows you to bring files from anywhere using Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or any other cloud storage service.

This is highly important! Most of us do not use our computing devices to record audio.
It is done separately in a silent room with better microphones.
Please add a feature to import pre-recorded audios. -

Hello all. I know this post is old and I'm not sure if you already know what I'm about to say but I think I found a hack. You can add your own music tracks into spark so if you just import your pre recorded audio as background music, it should work. hope this helps

Yes, being able to upload audio would give me the exact tool I need.

This is frustrating. I love my Spark account for graphics, but not being able to upload a pre-recorded narration is stifling my productivity.

Please add this functionality because almost nobody has a radio voice to record their own voice overs. I was planning on hiring a voice actor for some short ads created with spark.. but uploading a voice file is not possible :(

This is a deal breaker. I'm a world languages instructor and this could be such a great tool for students to record themselves in the presentation.

I'd find this app more useful if I could upload my own narrations. This just plain sucks.

I'm a public radio producer and am still disappointed to come back to Spark and find that adding a pre recorded audio track is not possible. This severely limits Spark for the thousands of audio producers who could use Spark to create on line stories using text, images and audio clips.

Please add the ability to upload prerecorded sound files to add to photos or video. The templates are so clean and I not want to have to use multiple sites to do one project. There are others programs like WeVideo, which is free and already allows you to do this. This should have been a priority before launching. Going to use WeVideo instead. They also have better trim tools for video.

Also chiming in to request this feature. I'm trying to help one of our volunteers edit recordings of a hospice patient's life story. We were hoping to lay it over background music and possibly obtain photos for a slideshow. I was surprised that it is expected that audio would only be recorded on the spot. Very limiting! Guess we're still looking for a solution...

Hi I've just looked at Spark for the first time and was immediately disappointed that I had to choose between recording the audio badly on the spot but being able to have a background music track, or importing a professionally recorded and narrated voiceover but not being able to have background music. Could there be a function to play two tracks simultaneously, and achieve both?

I totally agree with Nick Hagen's comment: "Only being able to add narration created on the spot is limiting for what I'd like to use Spark for." PLEASE allow me to upload my only narration files. Thanks!

The ability to upload pre-recorded audio is a must-have when you're using Spark for educational purposes. Really looking forward to this feature!

Hello Michaela! As professor in a teaching and learning unit at a university, it is essential that we have the ability to caption our material. As an advocate, I recognize the need for captioning for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, but also for people who find that reading is a more accessible modality for comprehension such as students/faculty who are emerging in English language learning. And as a consumer, I choose my tools based upon accessibility for all, not just some. I hope you will share more about the plan for adding captioning as an option. Without exception, every company I've contacted on this topic will reply with a vague or standard response indicating that is it being looked at, planned for, or considered. This is often designed to appease, not commit. Years can pass with no action. Please let me know, if you can, what the plan is to increase accessibility.

Hi @Tbecknell, which particular feature are you referring to? There are two mentioned on this thread: 1). Import pre-recorded audio or narration and 2). Add closed captioning.

Hello...just checking in to see if this function is still on the roadmap? I would love to add a professional speaker to my creation(s).

I produce instructional media for online courses. It has to be accessible for both blind and deaf users. All of the media is professionally narrated, so being able to attach different audio files to individual slides would be a need.

Thank you @Callista and @Nick for this feedback. Both are on the roadmap! Can you share more about what you would like to use Spark for, and currently cannot as the result of these missing features?
