Import pre-recorded Audio/Narration and add closed captioning.
I would be able to better use this tool for my courses if I could add pre-recorded audio (we have a professional narrator) and closed captioning (for accessibility purposes).

We have launched a private beta version of the feature to import pre-recorded audio/narration on iPhone & iPad. You should easily be able to import your narration audio clips from anywhere, irrespective of whether you created them on mobile or desktop. Spark Video iOS app integrates with iCloud files which in turn allows you to bring files from anywhere using Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or any other cloud storage service.

I see this thread is so old! Any ideas on how to add pre-recorded audio to each slide rather than having to hold down the microphone button???

Is there an ETA to when this feature could be implemented? it's such a key feature, and its lack at the moment is a complete deal-breaker. Thanks!

Hi, i have a uni subscription to Spark but the main limitation is that i need to have the option of having an audiotrack or voiceover narration. i see one is being produced for Iphone and Ipads but will this be available also for Mac users (not just ipad and iphone) and for PCs? thanks

Hello folks - I'm the engineering manager for Spark Video. We are soon launching the feature to import narration from any source. To begin with, this feature will only be available on iOS. However, you should easily be able to import your narration audio clips from anywhere, irrespective of whether you created them on mobile or desktop. Spark Video iOS app integrates with iCloud files which in turn allows you to bring files from anywhere using Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or any other cloud storage service. If you are interested in trying this feature out before it is publicly available, please sign up before the spots run out: https://forms.gle/dMu3C4xoQkDM3Q7r8
We'll follow up with an email in a few days with details on how to access the feature, and we'd appreciate your feedback in making this feature work for you. Spark on! -

For me, If I am producing these videos with professional narration this would be managed from my desktop. Managing pre-recorded audio files from separate location to be added to spark presentation from my phone or tablet would be more cumbersome that I would prefer. If you are using pre-recorded audio it isn't likely to be through a mobile device work flow.

Both! But iPhone more often, a real priority :-)

To answer your question, just available anyhow/ anywhere would be a huge step forward, it's such a key feature, and its lack at the moment is a complete deal-breaker.

Hello @boghosia. Of course it would be of use. And, I might say, it would be a first step, because it would also be welcome in the desktop/web version.
As you might have read down the thread, pre-recorded can happen from anywhere, the idea being "more professional than the iPhone's microphone". So that means access to the file folder or sharing capacity on iOS.
But If the spark is done on a desktop it would also be needed there.
On my side, I'd be ok with iOS first THEN desktop :) we've been waiting since 2016…

My team is currently outsourcing our scripts for professional narration. We work with wav and mp3 files. I'm building projects on a macbook pro.

This thread goes back to November of 2016. Has it been resolved? Updated? Addressed in any way?

Please add an audio upload option in addition to text and photos, so that they can be added simultaneously...not just the recording narration option - a worthless tool for most of us.

I was just about to make a suggestion like this when I found your's! Thanks!

I see my post from 13 months ago resulted in nothing from Adobe. Please add the ability to add a sound file to Spark videos... the live narration thing is not what we want. And exporting the video to audition or premiere is a big ask. Is Adobe listening to anyone?

Importing voiceover audio and trimming background audio should stop being cast as tools only for professionals. Time and again, I see Adobe thinking that live audio recordings will suffice in her prosumer software and that background audio should run the entire length of the project. Get with the program, please. These are bit ”nice to haves” they are essential tools for building multi-media

Has anyone tried patching the audio output from a recording device into the computer microphone input to live capture their recorded audio as a workaround? It seems that adding narration audio as a background music eliminates the abikity to mix music and voiceover.

To add professional VO with music, just create your video in Spark, export it, bring the export into Adobe Premiere, create your audio track with VO and music. Then, export the audio track and import into your Spark project as one music track. It's a round about way of doing it, but it works. I would agree that the feature would be useful in spark video, as these quick and easy to create videos are proving really engaging on social media right now, Spark could gain a lot of customers.

You can add this as a music file :)

Looks like this idea was proposed almost a year and a half ago, and still nothing?!? Was about to recommend Spark for a big digital storytelling project at my school in which students interview their parents about their work lives. This lack of such a BASIC feature kills that idea.

Adding pre-recorded audio is just such a key feature for my projects, can you just let us know if this is likely to happen any time soon?

I agree. Please let me know when you add this basic feature!
