Allow photo edit/crop/resizing of images especially for the glideshow. Transition effect options.
Sometimes the pictures don't show the right part, i.e. have picture of students. It only showed their bodies and their heads were cut off. Some times the pictures are too stretched out. Need the option to edit, crop and resize. Also would like the option to edit transitions.
We’re planning on adding this feature in the near future. Once development starts, we’ll update you.
Let me know if you have thoughts or questions. Happy to help!

I tried all the suggestions below to resize, but still can't get it work - takes over the background space. Does the layout matter? Any other suggestions to resize a photo? Wondering if I need to start over now

What I learned to do was Zoom out (top right corner of your picture has a little pencil, click on it, the the magnifying glass with a minus in it), adjust it to show what I want, and then zoom in again. It's a little dumb and not intuitive, but it does the job

Ok guys, my friend figured it out!!!
So, if you are using a jpeg or png without full transparency, the image will automatically just make itself the background with no ability to resize.
The image has to be a full transparency png in order to be placed anywhere on the page and be resized. I don't have photoshop or illistrarer so here is what I did:
Go to pixlr.com
create a new project
Added an image as a layer and chose the image I wanted
Free transformed the image so that it was in the canvas and still had some transparency behind it.
saved the image as a fully transparent .png.Adobe Spark then let me add the photo and it went onto the page not as the background, but as a regular image that I could resize!
We tried this with several images, and it worked every time. Hope this helps!!

Is this really a thing? I used Adobe spark earlier this year and I was able to resize photos...but when I try now it is just putting the photo as the background image. How is this even a thing?

Ditto. I used to recommend Adobe Spark to everyone but this simple problem of not being able to size photos within Spark deters recommendations and using the program myself. Please update!

Agree. I started playing around with Spark for the first time yesterday, and was quite excited about its potential. Then I found out that I can't make images fit the template shapes. Sorry, but this means the programme is effectively useless.

agree - just want to paste in a small photo and it is impossible. I get it as a full background or have to change my entire layout. Please update!

If there's just one new feature added based on where Spark is today, it HAS to be choosing the crop or focal point for an image in the same you can for the header image. The "Rule of thirds" and others became popular for a reason. Cropping around the center for the "Rule of Spark" is far from ideal.

Adobe is too busy fixing bugs across all its apps and creating new ones at the same time.

No weigh in from Adobe on this - would be awesome since this is a page for feedback if there were comments back like...."never going to happen" or "this feature is coming in our next update"?!

60 votes thus far, and one year ago, I was told this would be added to the next update to the program. Really sad Adobe. I've stopped using this program and have stopped recommending it because of this serious flaw (or overlooked obvious needed feature) in the software.

More than a year since the Idea was first suggested and to date NOTHING... really limiting.
So since I can't resize with Spark what size image do I need to resize to before uploading to use and to fit inside the shapes?

Wow. I thought I was missing something. I can't believe that it's impossible to constrain the size of a photo in this program. PLEASE correct me if this is wrong. Otherwise, completely worthless program.

Agree with others. Need to add image resizing, cropping, and the ability to change the font to bold, italic, etc. without having to change the font.

I cant believe I stumblee upon Adobe Spark & its easy process. All of it is great except not having the option to resize photos until it fits.
